Our "Riverfront Railcar & Frisco Caboose" lodging units are directly on the banks of Big Cypress Bayou. The "Robert E. Lee" is a replicated Steamboat lodging unit, actually floating on a private Cypress Pond. Four private "Cabanas" overlooking our Lagoon-style swimming pool.


All units have air conditioning., private bath, & coffee makers. Some with fireplaces & kitchenettes.


52 wooded acres of nature trails, 1800' frontage on Big Cypress Bayou, on-site fishing.

Peddleboat & canoe, FREE for guests. We have a 30' "Party Boat" that we take guests out on for Lake or Bayou rides, weather & time allowing.


We are just a 1 minute drive or 8 minute walk across bridge to downtown antique shops, restaurants, carriage rides, and "saloons"!

The Habitat
Vacation Cabins

The Habitat provides a unique haven on over nine acres of serenity and relaxation. This scenic cabin getaway located in the heart of the Lamar Peninsula is a compatible habitat for both humans and wildlife.

Located in an outstanding wildlife area bordering the Aransas Wildlife Refuge, the best part about this little piece of heaven is the wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. A network of nature hiking trails is available, plus birders will have a chance to identify and photograph myriad birdlife. Observing the Hummingbird, Blue Heron, Kingfisher, Egret and wild ducks in the two-acre lake that fronts each cabin will allow an immersion in a naturalist's environment. In the evening, the deer come to drink in the darkness, and the moon crests around a sea of stars.

Our four log cabins with full kitchens and private baths are available within walking distance to St. Charles Bay. These rustic hideaways offer comfortable beds, air conditioning, outdoor grills, and a spacious screened porch for star gazing and sunset watching.

A light continental breakfast is served with homemade breads to start the day off right. For lunch and dinner you might want to prepare something in the kitchen, take advantage of the outdoor grill, or there are several fantastic places to dine in the Lamar/Fulton area.

Fox Fire Log Cabins

The cabins of Fox Fire are pleasantly sheltered in the same canyon of the Texas Hill Country as Lost Maples Park.

Young guests and those "young at heart" may choose to enter the crystal clear waters of the Sabinal River, or just skip rocks along its bank.


Enjoy the simple pleasures of a campfire while the sun sets behind the hills. Then anticipate the arrival of the evening's fireflies and starlit sky.

Plum Lake is a private, weekend escape for couples who are searching for a place to unwind. A well-stocked 7 acre lake compliments the private, comfortably-furnished cabins, each of which include a queen bed, fireplace, full bath, kitchen, TV/VCR, porches, barbeque grill, and private hot tub.

Hodge Podge Cottages is located in Uncertain, Texas on Caddo Lake.


Caddo Lake is the only natural lake in Texas and by far is the most mysterious. A truly beautiful lake of meandering bayous and huge cypress trees. Excellent fishing too.

Jefferson and Marshall are only a 15 minute drive from Uncertain. Antique shops, restaurants, museums, and boat tours are a few of the many things to do in this area. Come and feel time slow down in this busy world and experience everything this area has to offer.

Our cottages are cozy homes pleasingly furnished and offer one or two baths, one or two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, comfortable living rooms with TV, VCR, fireplaces, porches, or decks.
