The Monteagle Inn is a thirteen-suite bed and breakfast country home and retreat center in the heart of the town of Monteagle, Tennessee.

The Inn is situated atop the Cumberland Plateau just minutes away from The University of the South, hiking trails, antique shops, and superb restaurants.


Flower and herb gardens beckon guests to wander through and enjoy the fragrances. Picturesque balconies, a spacious front porch, and garden courtyards provide gracious outdoor relaxation.

As you step into our home, we welcome you to make it yours also. Our large living room with four distinct sitting areas and cozy fireplace, encourages you to curl up on one of the oversized sofas with a good book from our shelves. Inside entertainment options range from cable television, movies on the VCR, a game of chess, or books from our library nook. Hot cookies and flavored teas ward off the munchies

Twelve of our thirteen guest rooms are furnished with king or queen size beds, and one has two comfortable twin beds. Each room has a full private bath, separate seating area with reading lights and elegant relaxing décor. All rooms have individual room climate control, telephones with voice mail, and data ports.

A scrumptious hot breakfast is included during your stay.

Spring, summer, fall, or winter…all excellent times for a group retreat, a training session, or a family gathering. There is much to see and do in the Sewanee-Monteagle community all year-round.

River Terrace Resort & Convention Center is located in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg, and within walking distance of most area restaurants, shops and attractions.

River Terrace Resort offers 205 luxurious rooms. Your choice of accommodations include spacious guest rooms, pool side rooms, and suites with two queen beds or one king bed, some with whirlpools and/or gas burning fireplaces with balconies overlooking the river as well as mountain views.


Resort amenities include: 2 outdoor heated pools, outdoor hot tub, on-site restaurant, laundry facilities, and lounge internet access. Bent Creek Golf Course, a championship, 18 hole golf course is nearby. Golf packages are available.
