At Turf Soaring School, we have introduced thousands of people to the excitement and beauty of soaring flight - we\'d like to share it with you!

Whether you have never been aloft or are a seasoned air traveler (or even a pilot), we'll show you a new, quiet world up there - and give you time to savor it. Your pilot will point out places of interest as you climb into the sky behind a powered towplane.

After release from tow, your instructor will demonstrate basic flying techniques, then give you the opportunity to take the controls yourself. After landing, your pilot will enter your flight in an official pilot's logbook which you may keep either as a souvenir of a once-in-a-lifetime experience or as the beginning of your glider pilot training.

For those with an adventurous spirit, Turf Soaring offers exciting aerobatic rides. Safe, professional pilots take you on a glider ride that exceeds any roller coaster thrill you've ever experienced!

You can also share the silent thrill of soaring with a friend. If your combined weight is less than three-hundred pounds, enjoy a mile high glider ride for two!

Our fleet of eight beautiful sailplanes and three powerful towplanes are inspected daily by our staff and regularly-after every 100 hours of flight-by Federal Aviation Administration licensed mechanics.

Our site, located just north of Phoenix, combines easy access with nearby desert fields and mountains for superb thermal soaring. Dust devils spin across the surrounding countryside from March to October, and our ships are here, waiting to catch them for you.
