California Country Inns

Gold Lake Lodge is nestled among alpine meadows on the crest of the Sierra's. There are more than 30 natural mountain lakes within a short distance of the Lodge. Many of these lakes have road access, but most can be reached by trail only.

Our cabins are at the trailhead of some of the nicest routes in the Lakes Basin Area. The Lakes Basin Area is one of our first national recreation areas. It encompasses over 1,000 acres of wilderness lakes, streams, mountains and trails. Gleaming cliffs and mountain meadows are your constant companions.

For accommodations we offer two types of cabins: standard and rustic. Standards have full baths, and rustic have detached, modern facilities just a few steps away. We have plenty of blankets for cool alpine mornings and daily maid service to keep everything clean.

At Gold Lake Lodge, we offer a Modified American Plan - Hearty dinner, trail lunch and breakfast are included.

Come enjoy the outdoors! There's hiking, fishing, swimming, and biking trails too.

A casually elegant country inn with 4 generous rooms, each with beautifully appointed baths (including 2 person tubs in king rooms).

We're 1-1/2 hrs from Lake Tahoe, 2-1/2 hrs from Bay Area, 45 min. from Sacramento, and nearby other historic gold rush towns and villages. Great bicycle riding, motorcycle riding, or just walking terrain.


Our Inn has a coffee bar, with espressos, mochas and all manner of goodies. Soon to serve beer, wine, casual food, with live music occasionally.

The Inn at Fawnskin is a beautiful contemporary Log Home nestled in its own private pine forest on the peaceful North Shore of Big Bear Lake. Fawnskin offers a tranquil setting just minutes away from ski areas, shops, restaurants, boating, fishing, golf, hiking trails and picnic areas.

The Inn offers five lovely well-appointed rooms including two luxurious suites.

A gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the romantic setting of the dining room, complete with a large stone fireplace. Tempting tidbits from Nancy's kitchen are served each evening with seasonal beverages.

Carriage House Inn is located on the Downie River in historic downtown Downieville. Nestled in a forested canyon at 2,950 feet, picturesque Downieville is a true relic of the California Gold Rush one of the prettiest of the Gold Rush towns.


Walk the narrow streets and wooden sidewalks. Browse through the unique small gift and antique shops. Shop for authentic gold nugget jewellery. Dine in one of several restaurants with riverfront views and then enjoy a stage production at the Yuba Theatre.

There's mountain biking, hiking, gold panning, white water rafting, swimming, golfing, and horseback riding nearby. In winter, enjoy cross country skiing and snowmobiling with trails just up the road.

Recently remodeled, the Carriage House Inn has comfort and country charm with river views from all 9 rooms. Hospitality breakfast of hot bread or muffins, coffee and juice provided on weekends.

We can accommodate large parties such as weddings and group retreats.

The Springville Inn is nestled at the foothills to the southern Sierra Nevada. This grand old lady has stood guard over Springville since 1911.

The Inn has been completely remodeled in California casual and offers 8 rooms and 2 wonderful suites to the weary traveler

Our fine dining restaurant is becoming the place to dine in Tulare and Kings Counties.

If you like the outdoors, you will love Tule River Country. You can play golf, tennis, horse back ride, ride mountain bikes, hike, camp, white water raft, cross country ski, hunt, fish and simply sit and gaze upon the most glorious mountains in the United States.

Boulder Creek Inn is a European Chalet Style Home with floor to ceiling windows, looks out to the scenic splendor of the Sierra foothills.

This beautiful country inn offers three tastefully decorated guest rooms. All private baths! Air conditioning, whirlpool, and free internet access.
Complimentary refreshments. Full sit down breakfast served by a Gourmet German Chef. Vegetarians are very welcome!

Step back in time and join us in our lively hotel, bar and restaurant. The Historic Leger Hotel is located in Mokelumne Hill, in Calaveras County, California, just a short drive (about an hour) from both Sacramento and Stockton.

We have a pool and a large backyard for Weddings, Parties and Corporate Retreats. We have an exceptional Bar and Restaurant.
